Oh Christmas Tree

Yesterday my family and I setup and decorated the christmas tree. As we decorated the tree we reminisced about past christmas, our traditions and silly ornaments. Next year I will still join my family to decorate the tree, but Greg and I will be starting our own traditions...

I cannot wait to have ornaments like these adorning our tree....

first physical purchase...

for our wedding (other than magazines)!!!! I'm excited about it... So, I've been working on our Save the Dates - and them style of them is vintage travel postcard... because its kind of a road trip destination. I'm not ready to share them yet, you'll have to wait until after the new year. So - when I was at good ol' hobby lobby and came across a blank photo album with vintage postcards all over the cover I just couldn't resist! I'm planning on turning it into a guest book with Polaroids and such ... (once again I have a vision)... it's not the colors of our wedding - but who gives a crap, it will make a GREAT coffee table book.

I have also begun my collection of assorted teal mason jars. PLEASE let me know if you have one or someone who does, I would love to buy it, borrow it or even rent it!
Isent the teal of the glasses fabulous?

Would you like more info about Save the Date cards? Pearls Events justed posted a nice blurb about them per my request. Aletha at Pearls Events is our 'Day of' wedding coordinator... this means she makes everything we've planned happen smoothly the day of the wedding. She is also available via email for any of my question concerns. LADIES - hire Pearls Events (even you out of town-ers)! And YES - you can afford her!!!

Also - I'm going to be deleting my post on voting for colors. Somehow it messed up the color of my blog and I cannot fix it - so get your votes in now. hehe

designs...

I'm currently working on a birth announcment but in the mean time I thought I would share the programs Megan and I came up with for their wedding a couple weeks back. The design was nothing too complicated or over the top, they were simple - easy - and we wouldn't cry when they got left behind or thrown away.

my first DIY (for OUR wedding)...

Made some tin can lanterns this Sunday… Don’t worry – they are not my center pieces… Imagine them scattered around the outside of the reception hall lining the wooden walk ways… ooo la la!

Enjoy!
Thought or ideas? I not even sure yet what the designs should be... it was just a test.

ALSO -
I have some readers who are NOT commenting... please comment - its nice to know you are out there reading and enjoying my blog.
I'm thinking about a color post here pretty soon... ! Did i really pick colors!?!?!?!?!

Pre-Christmas Purchase

No not the perfume.
I purchased my 3rd canon digital elf today. I've been known to be a bit rough on my cameras and have broken my last 2... oops. Why do a still go back to canon? they have the BEST pocket size camera on the market - by far. I wouldn't mind trying out the Olympus 770sw - because its shock proof - water proof - crush proof - but with retail at $350.00 i just can't do it.
I'm a design snob and I'm not sure that i like the look of the camera I just bought. They reverted to a 'boxy' design - and I don't know how I feel about this... regardless I have a new camera ! YES YES yES! Happy early christmas to me!

we're getting somewhere

No, I do not have a dress yet.
However - we booked an awesome officiant and a kick ass DJ. yippee!!!
Jackie is our officiate and she is truly one of a kind. We met her at her house where she made us feel very welcome, offered us wine and even let pixel come inside and run around.
... Jackies website ...
Our DJ is George. From the first 5 minutes at his house we could tell he was extremely professional - organized and very very thorough. He has so many great and unique ideas and a great house.

another picture from our trip... we didnt take very many with us in them though...

Lastly, Mrs. Sadler just let me know what kinda of art work you want for your blog :)

I failed English the first time around - I cannot spell, I have no regard for grammar, and have the writing style of a 5th grader. I'm sorry for those of you who read my blog and think I'm an idiot. I'm only an idiot when it comes to writing and words. Perhaps I should quite writing and just do little pieces of art work for each blog... interesting idea.

update (kinda)

First, the colors we're still beautiful! This picture was taken through the front window.

We had a great visit at The Homestead, it made me much more confident in our venue choice. They had an update about the ceremony site which is SUPER exciting. Below is a pano I took of the interior, it does NOT do the space justice.
Pixel went with us, she was such a trooper spending the majority of the time in the car.
Ah, the reasons we were there.
Still discussion on officiant.
I think we've picked a DJ, we just need look at the budget
Great Rehearsal dinner place(s)!
back to work now!

road trippin' (again)

We love our road trips. This particular one will be very productive. In 2 short days we will be meeting with 3 officiants, 2 Dj's, and one homestead Events coordinator.
Wish us luck! I hoping to come back confident that we've found a great DJ and a fabulous officiate.

this is a picture from a trip up north about 2 years ago. ah, the memories!
don't worry my readers - I will take pictures.

Who's reading this... Anyone?.. not that it matters. Ithink my blog will be something great for me to refect on someday... something to remember what it took to get us to our wedding day, and what I was thinking!

Happy Halloween!

As some of you may know, i LOVE Halloween. This year I did not get to participate in as many activities as years past but thats okay - i was in a fabulous wedding :)
however, I did dress up for Halloween today (at work) ... pixel and I did another 'couples' costume. I was little bopeep and pixel was my lost black sheep.
Us at work...

Some of my favorite costumes included "A one night stand" & "Cross Walk" very clever and unique...

By the way I made my costume... I taught myself to sew a few years ago. It comes in handy much more than might think! Recently I fixed 4 tree stand seats :)

Engagment photos

we had them taken. It was so fun! Like most wedding 'activities' I've been doing, it makes me want to get hitched TOMORROW! Again, I recommend my photographer to everyone. Below is just a little taste of our sure to be fabulous photos....

the history and significance of where are pictures were taken...
Good ol' downtown Kalamazoo... specifically The Union - the location of our first date, aw...
Of course pixel was in a few pictures... she was refusing to look at the camera, but was totally up for giving Amy (our photog) kisses. Lucky I think she got a few good pictures :)

Any more wedding plans?
Not really just looking into some DJ's and planning our mini trip to the homestead next month.
